It’s going to be a busy weekend for Norfolk Wherry Brass as we show our respect at a number of local events.
First up, our Principal Cornet player, James Higham will be sounding the Last Post and Rouse at the North Walsham Hospital War Memorial on Remembrance Day morning. If you’d like to come, the event starts at 10:30am and will be attended by the town mayor, the Colonel of the Royal Anglian Regiment and the local press.
Elsewhere in the county, the rest of the band will be represented at the short service in the garden of St Mary’s Church, Stalham, again playing the Last Post and Rouse.
Later that day, join Norfolk Wherry Brass for a Remembrance Day Concert at St Mary’s Church, Martham with the excellent Martham Primary School Choral Society led by Sarah Wright.
The concert starts at 7:30pm, but doors will open at around 7pm. There are no bookings, so the earlier you get there, the better seat you get! There will be a raffle on the night, with the proceeds going to Help for Heroes.
Tickets are priced at £6, with children being a snatch at £1. Don’t forget, if you’re a member of our Friends of Norfolk Wherry Brass scheme, there’s a £1 discount on your ticket! If you’re not already a member and would like to join, see Mick on the night.
You can get your ticket at the door on the night or from Naomi’s Flower Gallery at 7 The Green, Martham or at The Happing Shop, 35A High Street, Stalham. You can also pop by one of our rehearsal nights (7:30pm, Tuesdays at the New Victory Hall, Neatishead) and speak to Jan.
For Remembrance Sunday, we will be taking part in the service at St Mary’s Church, Stalham, again at 10:30am.
